Thoughts on festival style

Oh Alexa... a style icon so grand she had a Mulberry bag named after her... I love Alexa Chung's style, the way she pairs feminine dresses with masculine accessories and tough leather jackets, she always looks incredible. I love the look above and was even more delighted when I discovered that her dress was from Topshop for a very reasonable £34! The dress itself is individual, pretty and very versatile as it can be dressed up or down. I love the way Alexa has teamed her dress with a cute boxy black bag and black flat chelsea boots with just a hint of grey sock peeping over the top! All topped off with a statement pair of sunnies and a simple necklace, her look is exquisite!

I really enjoyed looking at pictures of celebrities at the UK festival Glastonbury this year, as well as some of the other festivals taking place this summer. I love to see how the female celebs manage to look stylish , as well as remaining comfortable and casual. I have a vested interest this year as I am off to my first ever festival, the Big Chill, which is taking place at Eastnor Castle in Hereford. I booked day tickets and nights in a hotel as part of hubby's birthday present. I find men really difficult to buy for and my hubby is fortunate enough to be able to buy whatever he needs whenever he wants it - I therefore purchase 'experiences' that I know he will enjoy but would not neccesarily know about otherwise. So, we are off for a 3 day mini-break at the start of August and I am already planning my outfits! I want to look cool, but comfortable, I am even considering buying wellies a la Coleen Rooney...

Wellies are not normally an item I would advocate, but if Coleen can rock this look, I bet I can too!! I will, of course, upload my festival looks when we get back! Can't wait! xoxo

  3. Thank you : ) Alexa Chung has been a favourite of mine for a while, she always nails it, whatever the occasion! I am yet to try on any wellies, Jimmy Choo do an amazing pair but I think they may be a bit extravagant considering i'll probably only wear them once! Hubby says I will be too hot in wellies and he is usually right... ; ) xx

  9. I'm still a bit upset that I had to miss out on EVERY festival this season, and all the upcoming ones too. No money = no festival. This sucks! x
